Welcome

The IFIP SIG on Children and HCI is now into its second year. This SIG, referred to as IFIP TC13.2 or, more affectionately as IDC SIG falls under the IFIP Technical Committee 13, on Human Computer Interaction.

We rely on the community to make things happen so with this in mind we would very much welcome your participation and input.

IDC SIG

*** In the coming months we are hoping to upgrade this site to a content management system allowing us more interaction with our members. If you have any ideas or content you would like to see on the site then please let us know!!! ***

The aims of this SIG are to provide a forum and one stop location for all things relating to interaction design and human computer interaction where the intended users or appropriators of the technology or service are children. Our definition of children is broad rather than narrow, we include toddlers and teenagers in our remit but the core work, currently at least, is with children in junior schools.

Publishing research in this domain spans many disciplines as well as human computer interaction and interaction design. Work can be found in educational journals and conferences, in psychology, in educational technology and in games; for this reason, our focus in this SIG is deliberately cross discipline and we invite members from all disciplines.

Joining is easy! It costs nothing but the price of an email! By joining the SIG you will receive email updates of changes to the website and of calls for papers.

We welcome you to our community and to our website - if there is something you want to find her that isn't here - contact us and let us know.
